The “Hole” Truth About Bagel
Facilitated by: Peter Hercky
Peter is a lifelong bagel eater and everything he knows about bagels was learned from a manufacturer and seller of malt, a key ingredient in making authentic bagels. "Without malt, it's just a bread doughnut." Peter will cover the history of bagels (are they really Jewish?), how bagels are made, how they have changed over the years, what makes a great bagel (it's not the water), who makes the best bagels and how to eat a bagel. Peter is part owner of an advertising agency and is an Adjunct Professor at both Rutgers and Kean Universities. He also taught a Jewish/Israel related current events class at Temple Sholom’s Hebrew High School for many years.
Date: Tuesday, July 12, 2016
